We're excited to see you face-to-face again, even if we're standing six feet apart. In-person worship will look at a little different at St. John. Here's a video from Pastor Dave telling you what we're doing to keep everyone safe and healthy, along with an FAQ.
1. WHEN CAN WE WORSHIP?
Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.: Recording Service
Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
2. WHAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WILL BE IN PLACE?
We're all familiar with social distancing guidelines: 1) wear a mask; 2) stay six feet apart; 3) wash your hands/use hand sanitizer.
You'll be expected to wear a mask during worship, so please remember to bring yours. (We will have a small supply of extras if you forget.) We pulled our usual chairs out of the Sanctuary for now and put in folding chairs so that we can clean thoroughly after each worship service. Doors to the building and the sanctuary will be propped open and we'll have hand sanitizer stations inside the doorway. You'll be able to access the bathrooms, but other than that the rest of the building will be blocked off.
We'll have offering baskets outside the sanctuary so that you can drop your offering off on your way in. Next to the offering plates we'll have self-service communion supplies. Pick up your communion kit on your way to be prepared for communion during the service.
We know it's been awhile since you've seen your friends at St. John so we know you'll want to talk, but when you do please talk outside of the building in the fresh air and maintain the six-feet social distancing requirements between households.
And, of course, if you feel sick, please stay home. We will miss you, but we want you to have a start getting better ASAP and we want to keep everyone else who is in attendance safe and healthy.
3. WILL YOU STILL PROVIDE A SERVICE ONLINE?
Yes! Our online worship service will be a permanent part of our ministry. Our Wednesday night worship service will be a recording service and it will go live on Facebook and YouTube (but you can also find it here) at 8:00 a.m. on Sundays as you have throughout the stay-at-home order.
If you feel sick, we ask that you stay home and join us through our online service. And if you don't feel comfortable gathering with others yet, that's totally fine. You can continue to join us from home.
4. WHAT WILL THE RECORDING SERVICE BE LIKE?
It will be just like our other services, but we'll have a camera up front and some lights for the recording. There might be some longer pauses during transitions as we get the camera in position.
5. I'M NEW TO ST. JOHN. WHERE CAN I FIND YOU?
Welcome! We're excited you're interested in joining us for worship and look forward to meeting you! We'd love to get connected so that we can stay in touch between worship services and answer any questions you have before you come. Tell us you're coming and we'll be in touch.
