The apostle Paul says, I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith" - Romans 1:16,17.
Someone once said that a Christian does not choose whether or not to be a witness to the faith and to Jesus Christ. Every Christian, by virtue of their baptism, already is a witness. It's just a matter of what kind of witness you will be.
Peter said much the same thing in Acts 10:39-42 when he wrote, "We are witnesses of everything He did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem ... He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. "
Where to I start? You start with the One of whom you will speak - Jesus Christ Himself. Christians draw courage, strength, wisdom and guidance from Christ. In Ephesians 6:19-20 the Word of God directs us to fervent prayer and bold proclamation from our lips, without reservation. It is true, even Christians fall short of speaking the message. That is why His Word and the Sacraments is the place we Christians begin their life of faith and witness.
TO SHARE THE GOSPEL ONE MUST TAKE IT TO THE STREETS, OUT TO THE HIGHWAYS AND BYWAYS WHERE PEOPLE LIVE.
