HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH (GRADES 9 – 12)
Sunday Morning Education Hour
On Sunday mornings from 9:15 – 10:15am, our high school students meet in the Senior High Youth Room for Bible Study. This class will meet September 2025 – May 2026 and take a break over the summer months.
Over the year, we cover a range of topics in short series, covering the Old Testament, New Testament, our identity in Christ, and the practices of the Christian life.
Yahweh Youth
High school students are members of our youth group, Yahweh Youth, which generally meets twice each month for time spent together and in God’s Word around a fun activity. It’s the goal of our youth program to form students in their identity in Christ, foster a sense of belonging within our Christian community, and encourage them to serve others through their vocations.
To receive our monthly email updates about everything our youth are doing, please contact our Director of Christian Education, Samantha Davis (dce@stjohnwoodbury.org).
High School Mission Trip | 8-12th grade
Every year, Yahweh Youth go on a mission trip specifically for students who have just finished 8-12th grade. This trip allows students the opportunity to put their faith into action by serving a community in need, grow through prayer, devotions, and worship, and build lifelong friendships with other students at our church and churches around the country.
This year, the High School Mission Trip will be partnering with Camp Restore Detroit to help restore communities in Detroit, MI from July 12-18, 2026.
If your student is interested in our High School Mission Trip, please contact DCE Samantha Davis (dce@stjohnwoodbury.org).

Service
“The Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
As our students mature in their faith and grow within the church, we encourage them to grow in service as well. Our youth events build in opportunities to serve in our community and country throughout the year.
Individually, students are also encouraged to serve in a variety of ways within our congregation. This includes serving within our worship services as a reader or live-streamer. Students are also an integral part of a number of our events throughout the year, including Vacation Bible School, the Easter Egg Hunt, and Trunk or Treat.
Faith Stepping Stones
As a church, we want to celebrate each student’s journey in their faith. We mark different milestones with special gifts, given during worship on Rally Sunday each September.
All students entering 10th grade will receive a Christian Key Ring as they begin driving.
All students finishing 12th grade will be recognized in May and presented with a quilt to celebrate their graduation with their church family.
